Promethean ActivBoard +2 IWB

An interactive whiteboard (abbreviated to IWB), is a wall / stand mounted interactive display panel that is connected to a projector and a computer. The screen that is seen on the computer is then projected onto the whiteboard's surface. At this point users control the computer using a finger, a pen  or another device.

They are used in a variety of settings as well as classrooms at all levels of education (interactive whiteboards for schools, colleges & university's), such as in corporate facilities, training rooms, broadcasting studios and more.

- How they work
The interactive whiteboard (IWB) is connected to a computer via a USB or a serial port cable. Our various interactive whiteboards can also use wireless connectivity such as Bluetooth.

- Various Interactive Whiteboard Accessories
A variety of accessories are available for our interactive whiteboards:

Projector — Enlargens the computer screen enabling it to be viewed by all. When it comes to projectors, 'short-throw' are most aesthetically pleasing as they minimise any shadows that can be cast. 'Ultra short throw' as you can probably appreciate gives even better results.

Track — In effect a fram which allows the interactive whiteboard to be placed on top of the traditional whiteboard, blackboard  or tackboard to best utilise wall space at the front of the room. Some tracks will also provide a power supply and data to the whiteboardl.

Mobile stand — A stand which allows you to move the interactive whiteboards from room to room. Stands are often adjustable to ensure the easiest viewing possible.

Printer — Obviously creates copies of the whiteboard annotations being made.

Tablet — Allows students control of the whiteboard at any point in the room.

Personal Response System — Encourages interactivity with the ability to take part in surveys and polls or answer questions posted up on the whiteboard.

Wireless unit — Utilises wireless technologies such as Bluetooth for a cleaner, easier solution.

Remote control — Gives the presenter complete control of the interactive whiteboard from anywhere in the room thus eliminating the need for on-screen toolbars.
